    Great harmonies and arrangements

    Hi Mona and Lisa

I bought Vol 1 as FLAC files from Bandcamp. Playing in a covers band myself I came across your stuff a few years ago on YouTube and studied your harmonies and arrangements to get ideas for our own cover versions. I loved Vol 1 and Vols 2 and 3 keep the quality right up. I notice you’ve moved away from reproducing the original arrangements, solos etc to putting your own stamp on these classic tracks.

I’ll happily keep supporting you by buying any future “Play Beatles and More” releases. I hope it helps you folks finance your operations. But I’m glad you’ve moved to the next stage with “Orange”, recording your own fine compositions. Maybe next time I’m in Europe/UK, you’ll have returned to playing live and I’ll be lucky enough to catch one of your gigs and say hi to you.

    All the best, Dave

I absolute love your music. Your Beatle covers give me the same chill that the originals did. Maybe even more so. I have all of your music, including Orange. Being a musician myself I’m pretty picky about what musicians music I buy, let alone those that I continue to follow. I’ve been impressed from the fist song I heard. I’d love to send you a copy of my bands latest CD. Is there an address to mail it?

This album finally gave me a chance to buy copies of some of my favorites I listen to online a lot. Of the new songs, “I’ll Follow The Sun” is my favorite on this album, but I really like “Baby Mine” also. Great album!

A follow up to match and expand from the original. Superb.

Another example of rarefied talent. The MonaLisa Twins harmonies flow effortlessly and shine like the rare diamonds that they are. The first three songs “I’ll Follow the Sun”, “Bus Stop” and “Please Please Me” are harmonic masterpieces that would fall flat if the cohesiveness and drive of the vocals were not spot on. The MonaLisa vocals soar over these gems making them sparkle and buoyantly enjoyable while we may even forget the originals. Not a small feat.

Not surprisingly, the MonaLisa Twins can produce this music magic whether in the studio or live, which is the true mark of rarefied talent, “Wake Up Little Susie” being an example of it. Knowing that some of these live versions were recorded at the Cavern is a personal bonus.

A song to note is “Baby Mine”. While fitting into the album seamlessly, is another clue of the real genius that lies behind this joyful group. The song came out in the 1941 movie “Dumbo” and while it has been redone many times since, the MLT version would fit like a glove on any early Beatles album. Just like The Beatles did with traditional songs, giving them their own personal twist, so have the MonaLisa Twins done brilliantly with “Baby Mine”.

Definitively, I’ll Follow The Sun drenched twins.

Super renditions of my favorite songs!

I keep on being very impressed by your harmonies, great timing and clear production. It is great to listen to the CD again and again. Especially I’ll be back, I’ll follow the Sun, Please please me and I saw her standing there are fab 🙂 Maybe I love them especially because there is far more to the early fabfour songs than we are used to think. So: a big compliment for you from a Beatle lover from Amsterdam. I will keep following you! PS: I love your Orange album as well, you are great composers as well.

If John and Paul were women and the 60’s good parts moved to now, then the Beatles had sounded like MonLisaTwins now

Very nice versions of an already classical music...

I love your music, Ladies, be it your original songs or other bands’ covers.
I find amazing your instrumental and voice evolution since your firsts musical steps and I’m looking forward for your future performances.
I heard that very often siblings are able of outstanding harmonical performances. Well, there are some examples, like The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, The Carpenters,… and you. I love specially your version of Beach Boys’ God Only Knows.
By the way, did you think of singing songs of The Bee Gees or/and The Carpenters ? I think that you could deliver a very nice performance 🙂
Last but not least, I’m interested in becoming member of your MLT Club, but could it be possible to pay the annual 120 £ fee in one shot ? Sorry to ask that here, but I could’nt find the way to do so.
In any case, thank you very much Mona and Lisa for your music and the real pleasure that you bring to all of us your listeners.

    Another cracker of an album

Mona & Lisa give brilliant renditions of old songs and give them a new lease of life. They remain true to the original but are still distinctively made their own.

Another fantastic album by a fantastic band

The MonaLisa Twins managed to pack yet another album full of classic songs from the 1960s. My personal favorite from this album happens to be Paint it Black. I absolutely loved their version of the song. Although every song on the album is great 2 of my favorites were Maxwell’s Silver Hammer & When I’m Sixty-Four. I think that you guys got very creative when you did those songs. I love the way they were done with that older sound to them.

About the Album

"MonaLisa Twins play Beatles & more Vol. 2" is the second cover compilation album released by the MonaLisa Twins. It consists of 13 of their favourite songs from mainly the 60s era, with a lot of Beatles songs but you’ll also find covers of Nancy Sinatra, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Hollies, The Everly Brothers and The Rolling Stones on the album.

“After releasing our first cover compilation album back in 2014 we kept recording more and more of our favourite songs from the 60’s. We have focused a lot on our original music too, but the joy of playing around with the songs that made us fall in love with music in the first place never stopped.

People kept asking where they could purchase our cover songs, so we decided to continue the 'MonaLisa Twins play Beatles & more' cover album series.”

The album features studio recordings as well as a few live performances, like “These Boots Are Made For Walking” by Nancy Sinatra which the Twins recorded during their 2 year residency at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool.

Many tracks on the CD have been on the MonaLisa Twins YouTube channel for years, while others have not been published anywhere before. People from all over the world discovered them by searching for new versions of their favourite songs and then kept following the Twins’ musical career. Maybe you’re one of them!

You can also find Vol. 1 and Vol. 3 in the store.
