Of course I remember the one by Three Degrees. It&#8217;s funny they never had more hits. They sounded a lot like the Supremes. I just looked at their Wiki page and they were more popular in the UK despite being a Philadelphia based group. Sounds like there is still a version of the band that is active. Very cool.</p>

<p>I think we all had a pair of flared pants back in the 70&#8217;s, lol. The statues are cool though. We have a company in my town that makes fiberglass statues. They made a 32 foot statue of a biker for our information center. My younger brother worked there for many years and helped sculpt and set up the statue. They have made statues that&hellip;</p>

<p>I have seen this one before but couldn&#8217;t remember where it was at. It is in Houston Texas at a Micro-brewery. The statues are 36 feet tall and quite impressive. The only thing wrong with it is that John is on the left and Paul on the right which is wrong. Even in their Hamburg days and up until the quit playing live, Paul was always on&hellip;</p>

<p>Cool topic, I can probably think of a few. The first one that comes to mind is Can&#8217;t Get It Out Of My Head by ELO. Jeff Lynne&#8217;s voice sounds very much like John Lennon on this one. It may be closer to a Lennon song from a solo album like Double Fantasy but the string section sounds very Beatlesque.</p>

<p>I don&#8217;t recall hearing &#8220;Joy&#8221; before but it&#8217;s a good piece of music. I can see why it would be a hit.</p>
<p>Yeah, Johnny Cash did one of the most famous versions of Orange Blossom Special. I knew it was an old song usually played bluegrass style with a fiddle but there are lyrics for it also. Johnny did it with lyrics but a lot of the bluegrass&hellip;</p>

I found this beautiful rendition of that music by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (cond. Adam Klemens). A wonderful trumpet solo by Martin Pavluš. Nicely done and very true to the original.</p>

<p>I tend to agree with you about his singing but his songwriting is genius. That&#8217;s true with some of my other favorite songwriters too like Kris Kristofferson or Willie Nelson. But give their songs to an amazing vocalist and they can become a masterpiece. I just listened to a great Bob Dylan song, &#8220;It Ain&#8217;t Me Babe&#8221; by Mona and Lisa.&hellip;</p>

<p>I believe Chris is right, you get them all because you have been a member for a while. I think when non-club members buy a CD or album, they get a free download for that album only. I&#8217;ve never downloaded any because I always listen to the cd&#8217;s in my car and like Chris, watch lots of their YouTube videos.</p>

There was actually alot of good pop music in the 80&#8217;s, but most of it got overshadowed by not so good stuff that dominated the radio airwaves.</p>
