I’m just dying with anticipation for BAM 4 to arrive!!

I just checked mine and there is an update…. it says it arrived in New York at JFK. Then it says it’s in transit to next destination. In my case, I’m guessing that means it’s flying to Atlanta. So that 29th date might be accurate….. I live about 60 miles east of Atlanta.

If you brought a dozen or more bands together for a video competition….. all given the same song (maybe a Beatles song) and a set budget….. lets say a thousand dollars or pounds and told them to go make a video with the given song…… I would take MLT hands down. They would not only win, I don’t think it would even be a contest.

I got an email with the tracking info. Maybe check your “spam” folder….. sometimes these type notices don’t always show up in my “primary” email folder. Hope this helps.

I think his Jazz work explains how a lot of instruments (such as the flute and saxophone) worked it’s way into his “rock” and “ballad” work.

That was a great explanation of what “Swing Jazz” is…. .thx. And Billie Holiday definitely has that sound that reminds me of the 30’s and 40’s era.

Interesting….. looks like New Orleans played a big part in the development of Jazz…. but that’s not surprising. I didn’t realize that Jazz musicians “improvised” as part of the “Jazz” sound.

This is one of my favorite “cover” song videos. You can tell it was done on a very low, low, budget… but that’s one of things (I think), that makes it so remarkable. That they could put together a quality video cover without spending a lot of cash. This fits the definition of “sometimes simple is better”.

Thanks for educating me on the genre type for swing dancing. That does make sense now that I think about it. So I’m assuming “swing dancing” was born out of the big band era? I don’t think Dan’s style of Jazz would be suited for swing dancing. Some may be borderline “OK”.

I was not aware that Mona liked Jazz…. interesting. I’ve sent them 4 Dan albums and 2 Dan CD’s, but none of them were from his Jazz work. Might have to send Mona a Dan Jazz album…. LOL.
